John is an award winning designer who founded The Building Permit Guy part time in 2017 while working as a Municipal Building Inspector. He brings a complete understanding of the municipal approval process and the Building Code as well as a keen design sense. John graduated with an honors diploma in Architectural Technology in 2012. Prior to college, John worked hands on as a framer building houses for nearly 10 years. After graduating from college, John worked his way up the ranks to lead designer at one of the countries top residential design firms. After moving away from the city to raise his kids in the country, John took a job as a Municipal Building inspector and it was during this time he was able to identify the need for no nonsense, high quality, fast, affordable, building permit drawings. 

When he's not assisting clients with their projects, you can find John enjoying quiet country life at home with his wife and 4 kids or buzzing around overhead as a newly minted private pilot!
